Our Choir
Music plays an important part in the worship and life of St Mary’s.
Our Services are enriched by choral and organ music – and we support the community of Shoreham in being able to provide quality music at weddings, funerals, memorial and school Services.
The choir of St Mary de Haura sings to a high-standard and is one of the finest amateur church choirs in West Sussex. It provides an excellent opportunity to sing a varied choral repertoire on a regular basis. At the same time, it is a welcoming and friendly group of singers with varying levels of experience. Enquirers and prospective new members of the choir are always very welcome. Please make contact with our Director of Music if you would like to attend a choir rehearsal and explore whether joining the choir is right for you.
Stuart Hutchinson is currently Director of Music and Organist.

St Mary’s Choir
St Mary’s Choir is made up of regular, dedicated singers, singing a wide repertoire of music from all centuries during the Church year.
The choir sings at Sunday Eucharist (10.00 am), at Choral Evensong (3rd Sunday, 6.00 pm) and at all major occasions in the Church calendar. Additionally, the choir is often asked to sing at weddings, funerals and special occasions.
Rehearsals are held every Friday (7.30 – 8.45 pm) in the Study Room (St Mary’s Hall).
The choir is a voluntary organisation affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music.
New members are welcome in all voice ranges – an ability to sing in tune is essential and some reasonable music reading ability is required.
Some singers may not have the time to give full commitment – all we ask is that members are reliable and able to indicate in advance which occasions they can or cannot attend.
