Every year St Mary’s Church holds a Christmas Tree Festival supported by Shoreham’s business, schools and community groups who sponsor and decorate Christmas Trees throughout the Church. It is a much loved part of Shoreham’s Christmas celebrations.
This year we have some brilliant supporters, and our beautiful Norman church will have a magical atmosphere filled with real Christmas trees. You will be entertained by choirs, carol singers and musicians during the weekend. Acoustics are wonderful so take some time to sit and enjoy the entertainment. On Friday evening, the church will be candlelit with Gathering Light singing and mulled wine for sale.
Remember to bring some change for the Festival. Suggested entry donation £2 adults (includes return visit and programme) and free for children under 16. Our Festival <raffle> is supported by the kind businesses in Shoreham and children will enjoy the chocolate tombola on Saturday. See <what’s on> over the weekend, there is plenty of entertainment, you are SO welcome to return for another performance. Every penny raised (and donated) at the Festival supports the maintenance and upkeep of our beautiful Grade 1 church.
And, what is a festival without something delicious to eat?! We’ve invited <local cafes> to supply something delicious for the refreshments table – maybe far easier than decorating a tree! Then, we can be sure to have enough cakes and pastries for the lovely people of Shoreham. What could be nicer than cake and a cuppa in our gorgeous church, listening to Christmas carols or Sea Shanties.
The event raises much-needed funds for the maintenance and preservation of our ancient 900 year old building in the heart of town. The church receives no funding from either the government or the Church of England to support its upkeep so please give generously
We hope you’ll support the event and consider becoming a <Friend of St Mary’s> this Christmas
